“Hadji” is an elegant and moderate dog
with lovely breed type. He is a dual champion earning
both his lure coursing and conformation championship
titles. He excelled in performance, responding enthusiastically
to training based on positive “operative” principles
which I believe are ideal for this breed. He is an intense
and confident dog with a strong work drive and he was
a challenge for this novice with her first Ibizan Hound!
See "Links" for
training and care references.
Hadji was an excellent coursing dog, consistently ranked
in breed throughout his career and occasionally in all
breed in ASFA and AKC venues with multiple Bests in Field
in both. The photos illustrate well the physical demands
of this activity. See “Links” for contacts
and books on coursing.

Hadji was the first Ibizan Hound to earn both his
AKC Open Agility titles. Many runs were in the ribbons.
His potential was unfortunately limited by the poor capabilities
of his handler! Ibizans must be agile. Their native hunting
terrain demands exceptional agility and jumping skills during the chase to
keep the prey in sight. We salute the agility accomplishments of all Ibizans.
The
photos below show a bit of our agility adventures.

Hadji is retired now but we dabble in Ralley classes locally
and he still enjoys his fetch games.
